The inventor and company owner is Gerald T. Carter Sr. As a former police officer for the city of Grandville, Michigan he was issued his portable and was told to just carry it in his pocket. Out of frustration and inconvenience he then came up with the idea for the Porta-Clip®. Working out of his garage making, each one by hand for many years, he then relocated to our current location just outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Others who are currently employed by Law Enforcement Supply, Inc. would include both his daughters Sherry, and Roberta, working in the office as secretaries and his grandson, Chris, who is in charge of production.
